Located less than an hour outside Santa Fe, New Mexico is a remarkable, love-at-first-sight national monument that will take any visitor’s breath away. Guaranteed. Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument has everything I love about the American Southwest: bold desert hues, unique and dramatic rock formations, wacky plants, and endless skies. The hiking? Fantastic. The scenery? Unbeatable. I feel safe saying Santa Fe is the best vacation destination you’ve never thought to visit.
Before the holidays, I published my full-length article about Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks – if you missed the piece, you can find it here. But, as per usual, I took WAY too many photographs while at the park. Over three hundred, to be more precise! So, that made it slightly tricky to narrow down which pictures I wanted to feature in the article. Whenever this happens, I compile a separate photo gallery – much like the one you’ll see below – because photography, along with writing, is one of my greatest passions.
And eating breadsticks. I love eating breadsticks. I didn’t mention this in the article, but after Kevin and I spent half a day hiking at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks, we gorged on carbohydrates at Olive Garden. I wouldn’t go to Olive Garden if they didn’t serve those deliciously addictive breadsticks. A few months ago, I learned how to make my own version of their breadsticks at home, and let me tell you, it was one of the best discoveries since Fleming discovered Penicillin. Okay, I’m being slightly dramatic, but I love me a good breadstick.
Wow, I can really digress! Anyways, let me share with y’all a handful of my favorite Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks shots. I’m not-so-secretly hoping that the these photos will make you want to start planning a trip to New Mexico.
